The Photographer:
For the past 38 years, Scot Facer Proctor has been photographing the significant sites of the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other sacred sites around the world—including the Holy Land.  He has explored off the beaten path to capture the passion and pathos of people driven and persecuted but triumphant in their faith, including photographing Auschwitz and Birkenau.  He has taken scores of thousands of photographs of the places of revelation, gathering, the Mormon Trail, the British Isles and the sacred sites of the Middle East.

Scot grew up in the heart of Mormon Church history in Missouri and spent many times in his youth exploring the sites familiar to Joseph Smith.  Scot is exactly the same physical size as Joseph Smith; so, oftentimes he places his camera on the tripod and cranks it right to the eye-level of the Prophet, that the viewer can see things as he would have seen them in those first four decades of the 19th century.
